Therapy Fees

Half-Day Betrayal Trauma Intensive: $2,500

I work with most betrayal trauma clients intensively: up to 4 hours of focused ART treatment in a single session. This package includes follow-up check-ins at one week and 30 days.

Betrayal trauma rarely exists in isolation. Often what happens is the affair activates older wounds or past experiences you didn’t even realize were connected.

Because of this, a concentrated session gives us room to address what actually needs to be addressed — without watching the clock or cutting things off mid-process to schedule another appointment.

After your intensive, you’ll be able to make decisions about your marriage from a clear head, sleep through the night, stop the compulsive phone or social media checking, and show up to couples therapy or mediation without being hijacked by trauma responses.

A 50% deposit ($1,250) is required to hold your intensive date, credited toward the full cost. The remaining $1,250 will be charged within 24 hours of your scheduled intensive.

If there is still work to be done at your 30-day check-in point, we’ll continue processing with ART at no extra charge.

Optional continuation session: $1,000

Occasionally, complex situations need more than 4 hours. If we don’t fully resolve things in your intensive, a continuation session (up to 2 hours) is available.

Compare this to traditional therapy:

Weekly trauma therapy typically runs 6-12+ months at $150-$250 per session ($3,600-$12,000+). Most of my clients invest $2,500-$3,500 total and complete treatment in one or two sessions over a few days, not months or years.

Not sure if ART is right for your situation?

Book a single session first ($500, 90 minutes). This isn’t a shortened version of treatment; it’s a chance to experience the process, ask questions, and make sure we’re a good fit before committing to the intensive. If you move forward, the $500 gets credited toward your intensive cost.

Payment details:

Payment is required at the time of booking to reserve your session time. For any and all subsequent sessions, your card is automatically charged within 24 hours before the appointment. Credit cards are securely stored in your private client chart.

  • HSA/FSA accepted

  • Superbills available upon request for out-of-network reimbursement

  • Payment required at booking to reserve your session time

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

  • ART works best for people who are genuinely ready to resolve their problem. If there are secondary benefits to keeping the problem (like avoiding certain responsibilities or getting extra attention/care), or if someone isn't fully committed to change, ART may not be effective.
ART is most successful when clients are motivated to put the issue behind them.

  • Great question! You don’t need to be a strong visualizer for ART to work. The three things needed for a successful session are: the ability to move your eyes comfortably left and right, the ability to hold a thought or image (even a vague one), and motivation to resolve the issue.

Many clients worry about this, but you can “think your way through” the problematic scene or thought, rather than needing vivid mental pictures. ART works with whatever way your mind naturally processes information.

  • I'm so glad you're interested in working together!

I don't offer consultation calls due to my scheduling constraints.
Instead, I've included comprehensive information about working with me on my website so that you can get all your questions answered immediately.

I am also in the process of adding video content to my Therapy Service pages as an alternative way of consuming the information (and so that you can get a feel for what it's like to work with me on video!).

Of course, there will always be unique circumstances. If you don't know which service best fits your situation, or you have a question that isn't answered on the Therapy Service pages, please feel free to reach out via the Contact Form below.

  • Unfortunately, no. I live in Mexico, and therefore ALL of my work is 100% online. I use HIPAA-compliant video software to meet with clients, so we’ll be able to see each other during the session.

  • Most clients work with me through a half-day intensive ($2,500), up to 4 hours of focused treatment in a single session, plus follow-up check-ins at one week and 30 days.

If you want to experience ART before committing to the full intensive, a single 90-minute session is $500. If you decide to continue with an intensive afterward, I’ll credit this toward your package.

Occasionally, complex situations need more than 4 hours. A continuation session (up to 2 hours) is available for $1,000.

  • For betrayal trauma, I typically recommend the half-day intensive format: up to 4 hours in a single session.

Betrayal trauma rarely exists in isolation; the affair often activates older wounds, and a concentrated session gives us room to address what actually needs addressing without cutting things off mid-process.

If you’re not sure whether ART is right for you, you can start with a single 90-minute session instead ($500).

Either way, most clients complete treatment in one or two sessions total, not months of weekly appointments.

  • Betrayal trauma doesn’t wait patiently between appointments. You’re not sleeping, you can’t focus at work, you’re cycling between rage and despair, and you have real decisions to make: whether to stay and go to couples therapy, whether to file for divorce, how to show up at mediation next week, etc. Spreading treatment across months of weekly sessions means living in that state for months.

The intensive format matches the urgency of what you're going through. In a single half-day session, we can address the core trauma and whatever older wounds it's connected to, so you walk out able to function; not just slightly better, but actually able to sleep, think clearly, and make decisions from a grounded place instead of a triggered one.

There’s also a clinical reason: trauma processing often works better when it’s not interrupted. Stopping mid-process to pick it up next week can leave things stirred up without resolution. A concentrated session lets us follow the thread wherever it goes and finish what we start.

Weekly sessions are how most therapy works because that's how schedules and insurance are structured; not because it’s truly the best way to resolve trauma. If you had a broken arm, you wouldn’t set it a little bit each week for three months. You’d fix it.

  • No, I am not in network with any insurance company. (You may sometimes see my name on outdated provider lists, but I left insurance networks in 2022.)

  • Yes, but please be aware that insurance reimbursement varies significantly by plan. Intensive sessions and 90-minute sessions don’t fit standard insurance session length expectations (typically 53 minutes), which means your insurance company may only partially reimburse you.

You are responsible for paying at the time of service, and my record system will email you a Superbill automatically once per month (by request only).

  • When you schedule a session, payment is required at the time of booking to hold your spot. For any additional sessions I schedule for you, your card will be automatically charged within 24 hours before the appointment time. Credit cards are securely stored in your private client chart.

  • I am currently seeing ART clients on Thursdays from 6am to 4pm Pacific Time. I will be opening additional session options as they become available.

ART intensives are available outside of my typical Thursday schedule but will need about 2 weeks' notice to arrange.

  • Once you request a session either via email or using the self-scheduling widget above, I will send you your new client forms. (These forms come from my electronic record system, not my email.)

You are responsible for reviewing and digitally signing them at least 72 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment to avoid an auto-cancellation.

If you don’t receive these forms, please reach out to me at allyson@allysonclemmonslicsw.com.
