Online Therapy for Betrayed Partners Across Colorado
Online Individual Therapy for Partner Betrayal Trauma in Colorado
Individual therapy for partner betrayal trauma, infidelity, and affairs in all of Colorado.
You keep replaying the relationship, trying to sort what was real from what wasn’t. The trip where they seemed unusually attentive, were they already involved with someone else by then? The late nights they said were work, were they?
You go back through years of memories looking for the exact point where the truth stopped and the lie started, and each pass leaves you trusting your own perception a little less. You built a life with this person without knowing what they were doing behind your back.
Now a phone buzzing at dinner makes your chest tighten before you’ve even looked at the screen, and a coworker’s name in casual conversation sends you scanning their face for something off. Watching your kids in the backyard, sitting in traffic, waiting for your partner at a restaurant, your body reacts to ordinary moments as if the discovery of the infidelity is happening again, and telling yourself the affair is over doesn’t stop it.
Your mind puts scenes together from whatever details you found, and they show up in a meeting, while you’re helping with homework, while you’re trying to fall asleep. Some days you go numb instead: you’re in the middle of a conversation and realize a few minutes later you weren’t following any of it.
You’ve been checking your partner’s location, old messages, and timestamps that don’t add up, cross-referencing all of it against whatever they told you that day.
Your shoulders stay up near your ears most of the day, your stomach is in knots before you’ve eaten anything, and you’ve had more headaches this month than you can count. Sleep isn’t much better: you wake up at odd hours with your heart racing and lie there until it passes. The person you were before the affair feels far away.
What Life Looks Like After Partner Betrayal Trauma Treatment
You trust your own read on things again. You make a decision about your relationship, your money, or where you’re going to live, and you don’t spend the next three days replaying it to make sure you made the right choice. The doubt that’s had you questioning every read you have on your own life starts to fade, and you can weigh your options without needing someone else to confirm you’re seeing things straight.
You’re present with the people in front of you. You sit on the floor and play with your kids without your attention drifting to the affair. You have dinner with a friend and you’re in the conversation instead of just getting through it. If you’re staying in the relationship, you can bring up something hard with your partner without spending the whole conversation scanning their tone for a shift, or shutting down halfway through. If you’re separating, you can co-parent on a Saturday morning without spending the rest of the day recovering from it.
Your body stops reacting the way it has been. Your shoulders come down, the tension headaches stop showing up multiple times a week, and your jaw stops aching by the end of the day: that's your body responding to the present instead of the affair. When the reaction resolves, your body follows. You sleep through the night, you eat a full meal without your stomach in knots, and you wake up thinking about your day instead of what your partner did.
You focus at work again: you sit through a meeting or a client call and your attention stays in the room. You finish the report, you make the sales call, you see your patients. The hours that used to go to checking their phone or replaying the timeline again open back up, and you spend them on your job, your business, or figuring out what's next.
You start making decisions again. You start the conversation with the attorney, or with your partner, or with yourself, about what you want your life to look like. You start looking two or three years out again, instead of just trying to get through the next week.

How We Heal Partner Betrayal Trauma at the Root in One Half-Day
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based trauma therapy built around a set protocol and a series of back-and-forth eye movements. Rather than describing what happened out loud, you hold the memory in mind the way you’d watch a scene in a movie play out, while I direct the process step by step.
The eye movements help your brain change how it has stored the images and body sensations connected to the betrayal. ART has a phrase for the result: “keep the knowledge, lose the pain.” You leave the session with every fact intact and remembered, while the physical reactions, the unwelcome images, and the other symptoms that have been taking up so much of your day go away.
Most clients resolve betrayal trauma in a half-day intensive. For more information on pricing and what’s included in the intensive cost, please take a look at the fees page.

About Allyson Clemmons, LICSW
Colorado Partner Betrayal Trauma Therapist
My specialization in partner betrayal trauma emerged from years of treating affairs as a couples therapist. While couples work was essential for the relationship, I noticed betrayed partners also needed specialized individual therapy that wasn’t available. They would only find generic trauma treatment that kept them talking in circles for months, while their nervous systems remained hijacked by the betrayal.
I noticed that partner betrayal creates a specific type of trauma that requires targeted treatment. The neurological impact is profound, and it doesn’t resolve through insight or understanding alone.
Now I exclusively use Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help people move from obsessive investigating and constant triggering to genuine peace in just 1-5 sessions. You don’t need to manage partner betrayal trauma indefinitely. You can actually resolve it.
